The singer Rihanna was forced to cancel her performance in the show of the Grammy held Monday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where she planned to sing the song 'Kiss It Better' from her new album 'Anti', in order of their medical.
"#NAVY, I'm sorry for not being there. Thanks to the Grammy and CBS for their support tonight , "the singer wrote in her Twitter account.
Despite suffering from bronchitis and had been advised not to proceed with the performance of a risk of permanent damage to her vocal cords, Rihanna did not give up until the last moment, even to test its performance on stage gala twice. At the last minute, however, she decided not to go on stage, preferring to leave the gala rather than staying to enjoy the show.
A spokesman of the singer later confirmed to Billboard that her doctors had recommended taking 48 hours of complete rest to avoid the risk of a "bleeding in her vocal cords."
Rihanna was not the only artist who canceled her performance at the gala. Lauryn Hill also starred in her duet with The Weeknd expected because the Grammy organization have announced their participation before they have confirmation of the team of the singer.
" The Grammy announced the performance of Miss Lauryn Hill prematurely without our approval. Miss Hill has concerts scheduled throughout the weekend, which does not have time to prepare and was not even sure if I was going to get to get to Los Angeles in time for testing before the event " said a spokesman of Lauryn.
